Background - Mark Gordon Runs for Governor of Wyoming
It was the year 2018 when the Cowboy State native, Mark Gordon, found himself running for Governor of Wyoming. He was facing stiff competition. In fact, he was in a 7-way standoff for the Republican nomination.
Stratosphere’s Role
Stratosphere Media was selected to join the campaign team due to our trusted media-planning experience, knowledge and thorough work in past cycles. The idea was to boost the candidate’s name and deliver a targeted campaign that shed light on Mark’s personal brand, which is a dedicated Wyoming native and problem-solving conservative.
The competition included a billionaire from Jackson Hole, whose format preference was 60-second radio and TV ads; a multimillionaire businessman from Cheyenne outspending us; a long-time land-rights attorney that had garnered a loyal following through many years of hard work in that arena; and three others, totaling to seven.
In spite of the competition, Mark had a lot to offer, which made his political campaign promising.
The intense competition deserved an equally strong campaign. The natural landscape of Wyoming was an essential step as it allowed us to formulate ways to get the message across to those not easily reachable in this mountainous state.
The Solution

Adding an addressable audience satellite to a strong multi-platform campaign filled the gaps to reach registered voters. Our strategy was solid, using it to calibrate the plan for any shift in our tactics.
